Texas Defunds Planned Parenthood

Finally a state has common sense and defunds Planned Parenthood by $1.2 million in taxpayer funding.

Mat Staver: Matt, this seems to be a no-brainer, that not only the United States Congress should do, it should have done it under the Bush administration when the Congress was controlled by Republicans and a Republican in the White House, it should do it now, every state should do it.

If you’re really pro-life you ought to defund Planned Parenthood. There is no to give a single penny to Planned Parenthood for anything. 

Well, the good news is the Texas legislature recently deprived Planned Parenthood of an estimate $1.2 million in taxpayer funds per year by removing the nation’s largest abortion provider from a program that provides women with cancer screenings.

…this is the nation’s largest provider of human genocide and they should not be receiving state or federal tax dollars for anything that they do.

Matt Barber: Yea…hundreds of millions of dollars Planned Parenthood receives, paid by people like you and I, Mat, by those listening right now. This is taxpayer-funded abortion because it’s a shell game, as you point out. If it frees up resources and monies to be used toward abortion (even if they earmark the taxpayer dollars for other purposes), that frees them up to perform abortions.

So, Texas State Senator Jane Nelson [R] comments on this, she says, “Many people feel very strongly that the facilities receiving funding should not be facilities that are performing abortions. So the answer is, don’t perform abortions and you get the money.”

We have been calling for the United States Congress to defund Planned Parenthood for many, many years now. Hundreds of billions of dollars, Mat, for this abortion giant…so much for the Hyde Amendment…
