Kudos to Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez, and a lot of gratitude for her efforts!

However I’m quite surprise to see the name of a local San Fernando Valley-Santa Clarita Valley’s Assemblyman, not the
list of those supporting the Proposal to audit Planned Parenthood, could that be a mistake?

Planned Parenthood Audit Proposed by Assemblywoman Melendez Gains Support in California Legislature
The audit will focus on the correlation between taxpayers funds and the alleged trafficking of organs.

Sacramento – Assemblywoman Melissa A. Melendez, R-Lake Elsinore, officially requested a state audit of Planned Parenthood last week to the Joint Legislative Audit Committee (JLAC).  Since then, twelve of her fellow legislators have signed onto the audit request.

The audit will focus on Planned Parenthood’s alleged black market, human tissue ventures and to what extent taxpayer funds were used in this criminal conspiracy.  There are additional concerns, including but not limited to, systemic medical consent violations on the part of Planned Parenthood, which may implicate state agencies that provide funding, resources and collaboration to Planned Parenthood.

“The people of California deserve accountability. If Planned Parenthood is innocent of these egregious allegations then they should have nothing to hide,” Melendez said.“It’s time Planned Parenthood opened its books and we put this to rest.”

Independent investigations have recently brought to light evidence that Planned Parenthood has engaged in the illegal sale of human tissue taken from abortion patients. In addition, the videos show a Planned Parenthood Director discussing ways to make more money by deceptively violating their female patients’ consent in order to get better tissue. The illegal profit made off of an abortion procedure’s human fetus byproduct represents an obvious financial motive for the alleged breach of a patient’s consent.

“These allegations don’t just concern violations of the law, these videos show Planned Parenthood directors discussing ways to deceive and conspire against their female patient’s so they can get make more money from her tissue”  said Melendez. “To expect the taxpayers of California to then reward such illegal and despicable behavior with public funds is beyond the pale whether you support abortion or not.”

The following members have joined the Assemblywoman’s call for accountability: Assemblymembers William Brough (Dana Point), Beth Gaines (El Dorado Hills), James Gallagher (Nicolaus), Shannon Grove (Bakersfield), Brian Jones (Santee), Young Kim (Fullerton), Tom Lackey (Palmdale), Devon Mathis (Visalia), Jim Patterson (Fresno), Donald Wagner (Irvine), Marie Waldron (Escondido), and Senator Ted Gaines (El Dorado Hills).

Congresswoman Introduces ‘Defund Planned Parenthood Act’

Representative Diane Black, a Republican from Tennessee, has introduced a bill to deny all federal funding to Planned Parenthood, an organization that performs hundreds of thousands of abortions each year. An undercover investigation by the Center for Medical Progress has revealed that some Planned Parenthood affiliates harvest and sell the organs of aborted babies.

 

In a speech delivered Tuesday night, Black said that Planned Parenthood, an organization that receiveshundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer funding each year, “has blood on its hands.”

Mister Speaker, Planned Parenthood has blood on its hands. Over the last week, we’ve seen multiple videos showing its employees brazenly discussing the harvesting of aborted babies’ tissue and organs. But the truth is, Planned Parenthood’s culture of depravity runs much deeper than a couple of videos.

In my home state of Tennessee, Planned Parenthood, the supposed champion of safe abortions, sued to overturn our state’s informed consent and mandatory licensing laws – measures put in place to protect women’s health and safety. When I authored an amendment to our state Constitution allowing legislators to reinstate these protections, Planned Parenthood ran an ill-fated smear campaign attempting to confuse the facts and turn Tennesseans against the measure.

You see, Planned Parenthood doesn’t empower women – it deceives them at their most difficult and vulnerable moments. It values convenience over truth and profit over life.

As a nurse, I’ve seen the big-abortion-industry’s shameful tactics with my own eyes. That is why, for two years now, I’ve sponsored the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act to address one of Planned Parenthood’s largest government revenue streams. I continue to urge passage of this legislation, but in light of these latest videos, we must take the fight a step further.

For these reasons, I have just introduced the Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015 – legislation that would enact an immediate moratorium on all federal funding for Planned Parenthood while Congress carries out a full investigation.

I eagerly await the findings of this forthcoming investigation, but you know what, Mister Speaker? No matter, what it reveals, here’s the truth – Planned Parenthood has made a business out of destroying that which God has created.

It performs over 327,000 abortions a year, all while receiving roughly $500 million in annual funding from the taxpayer dollar. The one-sided relationship between Planned Parenthood’s ever-growing bank account and American taxpayers must be severed.
